Book Groups



There are three monthly book groups at the library.

The Kelley Library Book Group is a long running club that meets each month on the last Wednesday of the month at 7 PM. This group focuses primarily on fiction. The discussion is facilitated by Joan Fardella. The group welcomes new members to drop in for a particular discussion or to join the group each month. Upcoming titles are:
  • September 26th - Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen
  • October 31st - The House of the Seven Gables by Nathaniel Hawthorne
The Kelley Library Book Group does not meet in July and August.

The Non-Fiction Book Group meets monthly on the second Wednesday at 7 PM. The discussion is facilitated on alternating months by Jonathan Smith and library staff. The purpose of this club is to explore a wide range of non-fiction titles. This group also welcomes new members either on a title by title basis or as permanent members. Upcoming titles are:

  • September 12th - Drunkard's Walk: How Randomness Rules Our Lives by Leonard Mlodinow
  • October 10th - 1493: Uncovering the New World Columbus Created
  • November 8th - Destiny of the Republic: a Tale of Madness, Medicine and the Murder of a President by Charles Mann
  • December 12th - Shadow Divers by Robert Kurson
  • January 9th - History of the World in 100 Objects by Neil MacGregor
The Science Fiction Book Group meets monthly on the first Wednesday at 7 PM. The purpose of this club is to explore a wide range of science fiction titles. This group also welcomes new members either on a title by title basis or as permanent members. Upcoming titles are:

  • September 5th - Diving Into the Wreck by Kristine Kathryn Rusch
  • October 3rd - The Codex by Douglas Preston
  • November 7th - In the Garden of Iden by Kage Baker
  • December 5th - A Princess of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs
  • January 2nd - Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood
  • February 6th - The Ethnos Effect by L. E. Modesitt
